Advanced transportation links

Parramatta is easily accessible by rail, bus, road and river. Its integrated public transport system provides access from the east, west and southwest of Sydney for its 86,000 strong workforce.
For businesses distributing products to state, national and international markets, Parramatta provides efficient road links to interstate highways, Sydney International Airport and the Port of Sydney. Those commuting between Parramatta and inner Sydney have the option of Parramatta or Victoria Roads, or the new M4 motorway. Bankstown Airport is only 20 minutes away by road.
For car travellers, almost 9,000 parking spaces are available in the CBD. Council voted in August 2006 to reduce the cost of parking meters in the CBD and to cap the all day rate at $5.50 to make working or visiting Parramatta even easier.
Cycleways are available throughout the city for commuters wanting to leave the car at home. A Rivercat ferry service operates along the Parramatta River to and from Circular Quay on an hourly basis.
Rail and bus network
The Parramatta railway station has recently undergone a major $1.3 million redevelopment to cater for the 55,000 people who commute to the City on a daily basis. The new transport interchange allows people to easily and quickly access the hundreds of trains and buses that arrive and depart Parramatta every day.

Bus routes connect Parramatta to the west, east, north and south of Sydney and extend as far as Chatswood, Liverpool, Windsor and Bankstown.
The City is on the major western train line from the Sydney CBD with easy connection to other major lines.
