Tertiary Institutions


University of Western Sydney

UWS is one of Australia's largest universities with over 35,000 students across six campuses in Western Sydney. The university offers graduate and post graduate courses across a broad range of disciplines including law, business, health sciences, nursing, information and communications technology, engineering, science, environment and social sciences.

Diploma level courses


NSW Department of Education and TrainingThe South Western Sydney Institute of TAFE is the State’s second largest diploma level Institute. It actively pursues industry links and tailors training solutions to the needs of the Parramatta business community. It addition to the Granville campus located close to the Parramatta CBD and accessible by rail, TAFE also has colleges at Campbelltown, Miller, Liverpool, Wetherill Park and Macquarie Fields.

The Granville campus offers courses in business and administration, general education, adult basic education, engineering, building and construction, and information technology.

Primary and secondary education


Primary and secondary education is provided by the 48 schools (both public and private) and a range of specialist colleges located in the Parramatta area. This includes some of the country’s most prestigious public and private schools, including: James Ruse Agricultural High, The King’s School, Tara Anglican Girls School and Our Lady of Mercy College. Schools derived from many different religious denominations are also found in the Parramatta area.
