The NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change and Sydney Water offer a range of funding opportunities for business to implement sustainability initiatives.

Relevant enviro-business grants

Climate Ready Program
The Climate Ready program is a competitive grants program providing grants from $50,000 up to $5m on a matching funding basis to support research and development, proof-of-concept and commercialisation activities to develop solutions to climate change challenges.

Green Building Fund
The Green Building Fund initiative will be designed to help Australian businesses implement cost saving energy efficiency measures through retrofitting and retro-commissioning of existing commercial buildings. The program will also provide financial support to relevant industry associations and other non government organisations for building operator training and the development of energy operating and maintenance advisory guides. The Green Building Fund initiative will be available for application soon. Documentation and information about the program are currently being developed. Re-Tooling for Climate Change
The Re-Tooling for Climate Change program will be targeted at assisting Australian manufacturers improve their production processes, reduce their energy use and cut carbon emissions. Australian small and medium sized manufacturers will be able to apply for grants from $10,000 to $500,000 for initiatives such as investing in energy efficient manufacturing tools, small scale co-generation plants and water recycling.

Renewable Energy Equity Fund (REEF)
The REEF program is a specialist renewable energy equity fund based on the Innovation Investment Fund (IIF) model. It provides venture capital (equity) to assist small companies to commercialise R&D in renewable energy technologies.

The Low Emissions Technology and Abatement (LETA)
LETA initiative is a $26.9 million measure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the longer term by supporting the identification and implementation of cost effective abatement opportunities and the uptake of small scale low emission technologies in business, industry and local communities.
