Carers Support

Contact: (02) 98065925
Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30pm

Parramatta City Council Carer Support service provides information, activities, educational sessions and individual support for primary carers of people that are frail aged, people with a disability who live in or care for someone who lives in the Parramatta Local Government area.

Carers Support receives funding from state and federal Government through the Home and Community Care Program administered by the Department of Ageing Disability and Homecare.

Carers are sometimes overwhelmed with the constancy and intensity of caring for someone dependent on them. By socialising with and learning alongside other Carers they are able to discover creative ways of dealing with the challenges of care-giving.

Carer Support provides individual support as well as support groups, seminars, educational sessions and social activities.

Who is eligible?

A person who is caring for an older person, adult or younger person with disability who is a spouse, partner, parent, son, daughter, relative or friend and accepted the responsibility of caring for that person to enable them to continue to live at home in the community. The Carer or the person being cared for needs to live in the Parramatta Local Government Area.

There is no charge for this service.
