Your Council Needs You! Council elections: September 2008

Did you know that anyone who lives in the Parramatta Local Government Area (LGA) and is entitled to be enrolled as a voter, can stand for election as a councillor?

Parramatta has one of the most ethnically diverse populations in Australia. In the interests of representing the whole local community, Parramatta City Council is running an information campaign to encourage people from all different backgrounds to consider standing for election as councillors.

“We are looking for positive people who will help shape and lead Parramatta in this new century,” said Lord Mayor Councillor Paul Barber.

“As a councillor, you help decide the future of Parramatta and its surrounding suburbs. The role is hugely important in guiding the future of our district and making a difference to our local environment and local community.”
