All members of the Parramatta City Library are entitled to free access to an array of services aimed at providing the community with reliable and up-to-date information resources. Services include:
The Library provides a broad range of information resources, including a comprehensive HSC collection and access to many electronic databases. For further information please refer to Guidelines for Using Technology.
The library Catalogue can be accessed from home to search for items or to access your borrowing details. You may view your personal record, register as a temporary library member, reserve items, renew items if they are not overdue and request items not held by our Library service. Library notices can be sent by email, if you provide your email address.

Parramatta Library subscribes to many daily and weekly newspapers including newspapers in Arabic, Chinese and other community languages. Our Branch Libraries also hold a variety of newspapers. Interstate newspapers are not available.

The Library collects and provides information on community groups and services of interest to the Parramatta community. The Library holds several community language lending collections. These include Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Turkish, Vietnamese and Basic English resources for those learning English. Other community languages are available on request.
You can place Reservations for items currently on loan through the catalogue (OPAC) Web Catalogue or with staff assistance. These reservations are free. You will receive a notice when the item becomes available. The library is also able to obtain resources from other libraries throughout Australia (interlibrary loans).There is a small fee for this service which is non-refundable.
There is a limit of 3 inter-library loans per person at any one time. At Parramatta Library please collect your reservations/Inter Library Loans from the Loans Desk.
The Library holds a wide range of children's resources. Story time, school holiday activities, youth and HSC workshops and homework help are also on offer at all Libraries.

The Centre combines the Local Studies Family History Library, Visitor Information Centre, Council Archives and Art and History Exhibitions. The PHC offers facilities and services such as the Create and Learn Public program, School Holiday Activities and Venue Hire; with disability access and free Admission.

The Council Customer Service Counter, located in the Council Buildings on Darcy Street, provides service related to a range of Council functions, including: rate payments, dog registration, lodgement of development applications and general Council Information. This service can also be accessed Saturday mornings 9.30-12.30 at Parramatta City Library.
