Holiday Storytime

Join the childrens staff as they bring books alive through song, puppets and felt boards. A different story every day. A delight for children young and old.

Mad Scientist Exploring Science

Be a mad scientist for the afternoon as you take part in creating simple science experiments. Fizzics Education will be here in the library to facilitate the activities. This program is for infants and primary school students. Please wear old clothes and closed in shoes for this activity. Places are limited so book early at any Parramatta Library branch.

Place: Darug Room Parramatta City Library

Light catchers

Children ages 5-8 will make their own multi coloured cellophane light catchers to hang on their windows.

Ermington Branch Library

Drama Workshop

Come along and enjoy a fun day of drama brought to Ermington Library by one of Australias premier theatre companies for young people, Monkey Baa.

This drama workshop for 5-8 year olds is based on delightful picture book Milli, Jack and the Dancing Cat by Stephen Michael King.

Through basic fun drama games and creative play, participants will bring this gorgeous book to life.

October Story time and Holiday Activities @ Dundas Library

There will be a story time session followed by Halloween crafts.

Create Frankensteins box using crayons, cardboard, coloured paper, tissue boxes and craft supplies.

Make a Halloween picture puzzle by cutting out the pieces and making a puzzle base for the pieces to fit onto.

All children must be accompanied by an adult for the session.

School HolidayCraft: Paper Marbling and Origami

The children will create swirling patterns on paper by immersing it in a tray of water which has a mixture of oil paint and turpentine (pre-prepared by an adult) floating on the surface of the water. The marbled paper can be used to wrap presents, cover a writing book, used as a background to mount  a picture on it or written on.

This activity will be followed by an origami (paper-folding) session. Protective clothing should be worn. The activity is suitable for children aged 7-12 years.
