Stage 5 – Exhibition

Once the State Government’s Department of Planning has formally agreed to allow exhibition of the draft local environmental plan, the information will be placed on public exhibition and comment will be invited from the community and other stakeholders. The request for this to occur has been submitted to the Department of Planning.  In response, the Department has asked for additional work to be done by Council to further amend the draft LEP 2008.  Council is currently carrying out this work which includes preparing zonings and controls for three of the “deferred areas” (Carlingford, Merrylands and Rydalmere East) and addressing changes recently made by the Department of Planning to their standard LEP template.  Once Council has adopted the further provisions of the draft LEP 2008, it will again be forwarded to the NSW Department of Planning.  Once the Department of Planning has formally agreed to allow exhibition of draft LEP 2008, the information will be placed on public exhibition.
