Hazadous Waste

There are a number of items that should not be disposed of through any of your kerbside bin collections, for safety and environmental reasons.

The Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) and Parramatta City Council provides residents with a Chemical Clean Out once a year. At these events you are able to dispose of the following:
  • Paint and paint-related products
  • Pesticides, herbicides and poisons
  • Solvents and household cleaners
  • Motor oils, fuels and fluids
  • Acids, alkalis and batteries
  • Gas bottles
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Flares
  • Pool and hobby chemicals
  • Fluorescent tubes and light bulbs
For more information about when your next scheduled Chemical Clean Out is taking place, please call 131 555. Alternatively, you can contact the Council’s Waste hotline on 9806 5544.
