Illegal Dumping

Illegal dumping (picture below) is the placement of rubbish in common public areas. It is illegal to dump rubbish in community areas such as streets, nature strips, footpath, reserves, parks, car parks and water ways. Illegal dumping can attract fines from $750 up to $250,000.
It is illegal to dump household items including:
  • Furniture
  • Bags of rubbish
  • Building materials
  • White goods and electrical products
Dumping rubbish shows no care or respect for the community or the environment and cost rate payers thousands of dollars each year.
