Parramatta Ferry Commuter Service to Become a Reality
The Premier Nathan Rees has reaffirmed his commitment to developing a commuter ferry service to Parramatta. The Premier along with Lord Mayor Cr Tony Issa OAM conducted a press conference at Parramatta Wharf on Tuesday morning (2 December). The Premier announced that the State Government was now calling for private operators to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) in running a new peak hour service between the two centres of Sydney and Parramatta. Parramatta City Council and local residents have fought long and hard to ensure the future of the Parramatta ferry service and this commitment from the State Government is a victory for the citizens of Parramatta.
