Full Relief Concert Programme Announced
20 Feb 2009
The Lady Mayoress of Parramatta City Council, Susan Issa, is pleased to announce the final line-up of artists to perform at a Bushfire Relief Concert to be held at Riverside Theatres on Friday 6 March.
“Riverside Theatres have put together an extraordinary line-up in such a short time and I thank both them and the artists who have donated their talents in making this very important concert happen,” Mrs Issa said.
The variety concert now also includes the crowd-pleasing favourite and Riverside regular Maria Venuti, Joe Wakim from The Heartbeats, Sydney Chinese Dance, the Riverside Lyric Ensemble, belly-dancers as well as previously announced ABC Radio’s Richard Glover, Grahame Bond and Rory O’Donoghue from the Aunty Jack Show, Zooo Superband, Pacific Opera and NAISDA Aboriginal Dreamtime Dance College.
“This will be a very special evening for our community, who are already getting behind the concert and helping us raise much important funds for the Red Cross in Victoria,” Mrs Issa said.
“But I am still encouraging other local businesses and community groups in Parramatta to get behind the event to support our Bushfire Relief Concert,” she said.
Mrs Issa has started a silent auction which will be held from 6pm on the evening of the concert which starts at 7.30pm. Local businesses in the Parramatta Local Government Area are still encouraged to donate items to help raise funds for the evening. 100 per cent of all proceeds and ticket sales from the event will go to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bush Fire Appeal.
Tickets to the Lady Mayoress’ Bushfire Relief Concert are $50 each and are available through Riverside Theatres’ Box Office:
