H1N1 Influenza Emergency Response Committee

Parramatta City Council has created a emergency response committee in light of the spread of H1N1 Influenza (Human Swine Influenza) to ensure we continue to monitor and maintain Council services in the Parramatta LGA.

The pandemic alert level has been raised by the World Health Organization from phase 4 to phase 5. The Australian Federal Government pandemic alert has been raised to the contain phase.

If you are concerned about flu-like symptoms, or they become worse, you should immediately contact your manager.

You should also seek medical advice by phoning your General Practitioner, hospital or the H1N1 09 Hotline (180 2007). It is especially important to get medical advice at the first signs of illness in children, and in people who have certain chronic medical conditions. Your doctor will be able to advise if you have a chronic condition which may put you at particular risk of the complications of influenza.
