New Service Enquiries
From July 1st, 2015 people over 65 years enquiring about new services must lodge their call through My Aged Care. This can be done over the phone on 1800 200 422 or via their website at myagedcare.gov.au.
The My Aged Care website has been established by the Australian Government to help you navigate the changes to the aged care system. My Aged Care is made up of this website and a contact centre. Together they can provide you with information on aged care for yourself, a family member, friend or someone you’re caring for. You can call the My Aged Care contact centre between 8am and 8pm on weekdays and between 10am and 2pm on Saturdays.
Provide social support for individuals and families who live in the Parramatta Local Area to assist in meeting a person’s need for social contact and connect them to activities in the community.
The support is provided to people who are older and frail, adults with a disability and/or carers of these people who need social support to live independently at home and reduce social isolation. We support them to participate in society and have a good life.
City of Parramatta Food Services Meals on Wheels delivers nutritionally balanced and culturally diverse meals to people who are older and frail , people with disabilities and their carers. Parramatta Meals on Wheels receives funding from council and state and federal Government through the Home and Community Care Program, administered by the Department of Ageing Disability and Homecare.more...
City of Parramatta Carer Support service provides information, activities, educational sessions and individual support for primary carers of people that are frail aged, people with a disability who live in or care for someone who lives in the Parramatta Local Government area. Carers Support receives funding from state and federal Government through the Home and Community Care Program.more...
CALM aims to help residents in our local government area who may be frail and aged, financially disadvantaged, people with disabilities and their carers with no other support to assist them. It is a subsidized lawnmowing service allowing residents up to nine visits per year from Council’s preferred contractors.more...
City of Parramatta Over 55's Leisure and Learning Service provides an extensive range of education, recreation and social activities throughout the year. People over 55 years of age living in and outside of the Parramatta Local Government Area are welcome to join. A nominal annual fee for membership is charged and there is also a small fee per person for class activities.
Volunteers are essential for Council to operate many of its services for people who are older or have a disability.
