'Sing Rhyme and Story time' will have a focus on early literacy. The programme aims to help children communicate and to develop their language skills. Children will develop skills to recognise that letters symbolize sounds and those sounds form words so the child can attach meaning to help them understand.
To help this process parents will be encouraged to engage with their children through a combination of rhymes, finger plays, puppets, story telling and dancing
Parents are also encouraged to be actively involved and support their children and the programme.
Telopea Roving Readers one of the Paint Parra Read initiatives will participate in a reading session once a term.
Sing Rhyme and Story time has been organised by Dundas Library in partnership with Schools as Community Centres (SaCC) and Telopea Roving Readers.
'Sing Rhyme and Story time' will be held during school term only.
