Dangerous and Restricted Dog Enclosure Requirements

Whilst at the property where a dangerous or restricted dog is normally kept, it must be confined within an approved enclosure.

The enclosure must meet the following safety requirements:

Construction of the enclosure must be complete within 6 months of a restricted dog declaration and 3 months within a dangerous dog declaration. Until such time as the enclosure can be built the dog must be kept (in an enclosure) in such a way as to restrain the dog and prevent a child from having access to it.

If you feel that a declared dangerous or restricted dog is not being properly restrained and it threatens the safety of people or animals please contact Parramatta City Council on 9806-5700 and ask to speak to an Animal Management Officer.
