Management Plan 05/06 Consultation
Parramatta City Council sought to understand residents’ view the provision of Council services and their opinions of Parramatta and where they live. This consultation is crucial to the budgeting process as it helps to determine funds and resources expenditure for the year ahead.
Wellbeing Strategy Consultation
Between August and October 2005, the Residents' Panel conducted a major consultation so as to understand the direction that Residents wanted Parramatta to take in the future as Council was in its initial planning for a 20 year strategy. There were numerous objectives for the research such as creating a common vision, destinations and strategies. To do this a forum, focus groups and three surveys were used to engage the community.
Animal Management Plan Consultation
Parramatta City Council are undertaking a review of the Animal Management Plan and through the Residents' Panel have formed a small committee to discuss issues relating to companion animals with a view to updating this document. Panel members have been involved in regular meetings to discuss the review of Councils Animal Management Plan.
Home Sex as an Occupation Consultation
The purpose of this survey was to provide Parramatta City Council with an understanding of the communities’ position in relation to "Sex Services as a Home Occupation" in residential areas. This came about due to Parramatta City Councils’ proposed amendments to the planning controls to make provisions for brothels more restrictive. The State Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources sought consideration be given to allow sex services to function as a home occupation in residential areas.
Paid Parking Meters Consultation

RDS - Residential Development Strategy Consultation
Parramatta Council invited resident panel members to comment on issues relating to Councils Residential Development strategy. This would shape the type of housing that will be permitted around the Parramatta Local Government Area in years to come. A short survey asked two questions around; those things residents considered to be important in their neighbourhoods and also ranking local issues. This survey was conducted in conjunction with a wider review of the RDS discussion paper, by residents, business owners and other stakeholders
