Management Plan 2006/07 Consultation
The Management Plan 2006/07 consultation follows on from the previous year’s Management Plan Survey. Resident Panel members were asked questions around the provision of Council Services and their opinion of Parramatta and where they live. This consultation is crucial to the budgeting process as it helps to determine the funds and resources expenditure for the year ahead
ParramattaTwenty25 Consultation
The Residents’ panel Team undertook the ParramattaTwenty25 Consultation with the entire Residents Panel. ParramattaTwenty25 is a 20 year strategic plan that Parramatta Council has created with the help of residents, business and stakeholders to make the City of Parramatta a vibrant and sustainable place to live, work and play. As Council had developed destinations and strategies with the help of residents, it was imperative that a ranking of these were completed so that it would help in the development of an implementation plan. The ParramattaTwenty25 consultation sought to do this
CBD Business Proprietors Consultation 2006
The Parramatta CBD is undergoing a massive transformation with new buildings being built and changes to infrastructure occurring. Apart from surveying the business community on the look and feel of the City, Council also wanted to know the levels of satisfaction across a variety of areas including: access, information, waste collection, safety and information distribution. This was an open consultation where any business located within the Parramatta Central Business District Area was eligible to complete the survey.
Council Owned Recreational Facilities - Facility Hall Hirers Consultation 2006
The Residents’ Panel completed research to identify the level of satisfaction users have with the Hall Facilities that are provided by Parramatta City Council.
Council Owned Recreational Facilities - Golf Course Consultation 2006
The Residents’ Panel completed research to identify the level of satisfaction users have with the Golf Course provided by Parramatta City Council.
Council Owned Recreational Facilities - Parks Consultation 2006
The Residents’ Panel completed research to identify the level of satisfaction users have with the Parks that are provided and maintained by Parramatta City Council.
Council Owned Recreational Facilities - Pools 2006
The Residents’ Panel completed research to identify the level of satisfaction users have with the Pools that are provided by Parramatta City Council.
Council Owned Recreational Facilities - School Holiday 2006
The Residents’ Panel completed research to identify the level of satisfaction users have with School Holiday Programs that are provided by Parramatta City Council.
Development Consultation 2006
The Residents’ Panel has worked with the Development Services to understand applicant’s satisfaction with the way their Development Application/ Construction Certificate was managed. These consultations were conducted with all persons that have gone through the development service in a period of three months prior to determination.
Library Services Consultation 2006
This consultation was conducted in conjunction with the Residents’ Panel team and Parramatta Branch Libraries to better understand customer satisfaction with the service provided by Parramatta City Council. This consultation was conducted using registered customers of the Parramatta Local Government Area Libraries.
The Parramatta Heritage Center Consultation 2006
Parramatta’s heritage is rich and extraordinary. The Residents’ Panel, in association with the Parramatta Heritage Centre, sought to understand user satisfaction with the service provided by the Heritage Centre. This consultation was undertaken with the participation of registered customers of the Parramatta Heritage Centre, as well as interviews completed at the Centre venue.
Riverside Theatres Consultation 2006
Parramatta City Council’s Riverside Theatres is one of Parramatta’s main entertainment venues and at the hub of the Parramatta lifestyle. The Residents’ Panel, alongside with Riverside Theatres, sought to understand the user satisfaction with this service. This consultation was carried out using registered customers of Riverside Theatres, as well as interviews completed at the theatre.
Sports Field Hirers Consultation 2006
The Residents’ Panel aimed to complete research to identify the level of satisfaction that users of sports facilities hirers have with the support provided by Parramatta City Council. This consultation was a survey using organisations that have used any of the sports facilities provided by Parramatta City Council.
Panel Satisfaction Consultation
The Residents’ Panel Team undertook a Resident Panel Consultation as an initiative to find out the level of satisfaction of panellists participating in the Residents’ Panel. The Residents Panel Team also surveyed members about a possible new concept involving a points redemption system for panellists. The idea was residents would accrue points to redeem for Council services after they completed a consultation. .
Services and Communications Major Consultation
The Residents’ Panel team undertook this consultation to identify whether Council is delivering “the best possible services to our community” and whether these services are reflecting community needs. To achieve this, the Residents’ Panel team carried out a survey which was sent to all panel members via email and post mail.
Community Spirit Minor Consultation
The Lord Mayor and Parramatta City Council sought to understand residents’ opinion about ways to improve community spirit within the local neighbourhoods of Parramatta and across the Local Government Area. This consultation consisted of a survey which was was conducted with 250 randomly selected panel members via both email and mail and also a forum.
Council Volunteer Consultation
Parramatta City Council undertook research in 2005 that looked at volunteering satisfaction and how Council could improve this experience. The consultation was conducted with the volunteers who contributed their time to activities supported by Parramatta City Council, as well as volunteers in other sectors.
Disaster Planning Consultions 2006
Parramatta City Council works with other bodies, such as NSW Police and the NSW Fire Brigade to help plan for disasters that may occur in the future. The emphasis is that the response was appropriate and in a timely manner. To better understand how Council could improve in its response to critical disasters, will conduct a consultation with the Residents’ Panel after the occurrence of a critical disaster
Land Use Controls Consultation 2006
The Residents’ Panel sought to find out how developers understand current land use controls as well as the provision of information. This consultation was conducted with all persons and organisations that used the Development/Construction Certificate service in a period of three months after determination
