Councils Strategic Assets Consultations
Parramatta City Council’s Strategic Asset Management Unit (SAM) has been creating Asset Management Plans with Council services that require an asset to deliver their service. A good example of this is the Library service, Council owns numerous library buildings including Granville, Guildford, Parramatta to deliver the service. (Council’s community assets are currently worth $4.4 billion.)
Whilst financial considerations are important in planning processes, so too is the delivery of quality services to Parramatta City Council residents.
It is Council’s aim to develop the measures for these plans with residents (predominantly through the Residents’ Panel) and also specific users of Council services. There will be two main focuses for this consultation:
- What are Residents’/Customers’ expectations of the asset (such as condition, quality, aesthetics, fitness for purpose etc…) and
- What are Resident/Customers actually receiving. This will assist in matching resident/customer needs to Council’s expenditure.
