Waste Container or Shipping Container on a Public Road

A Waste Container permit is required for locating a Building Waste Container or a Shipping Container on a footpath or local road in the Parramatta Local Government Area (except on roads controlled by the Roads and Traffic Authority).

To apply for a Permit, please complete the application form and return it with your payment to Council's Customer Contact Centre for processing.

The process of application generally takes 2 days.

A Container can be placed on a footpath or local road for a maximum period of 14 days.

Fees for locating a container on a public road or footpath are calculated per day. The fee is based on the size of the container.

Details for the applicable fees and charges, standard conditions of approval and required documentation are stated on the application form.

Please note that for Shipping Containers, the applicant is responsible for obtaining Public Liability Insurance cover for the duration of it being located on a public road or footpath and must provide Council with a copy of the Insurance details when submitting the application form.
