Waste Container on a Public Place

A Waste Container permit is required for locating a Building Waste Container on a footpath, nature strip or local road in the Parramatta Local Government Area (except on roads controlled by the Roads and Traffic Authority).

To apply for a Permit, please complete the PDF Iconapplication form and return it with your payment to Council's Customer Contact Centre for processing. and return it with your payment to Council's Customer Contact Centre for processing.

Processing of the application generally takes 2 days.

A Container can be placed on a footpath or local road for a maximum period of 14 days.

Fees for locating a container on a public road nature strip or footpath are calculated per day. The fee is based on the size of the container.

Details for the applicable fees and charges, standard conditions of approval and required documentation are stated on the application form.

Insurance for Waste Containers is generally provided by the company that owns the containers and a copy of this is also to be provided to Council.
