Connected City
Parramatta is geographically the centre of Sydney and will play an important role in Sydney’s future transport needs. Parramatta CBD is the gateway to Greater Western Sydney and is the link to the global capital, Sydney CBD, linking people, information, goods and services. Parramatta City Council’s transport plan aims to support the expected growth in the area.
The City Centre is expecting an additional 30,000 jobs and 20,000 residents by 2031. In order to meet the growing population Council has proposed an amendment to the Parramatta Epping Rail Link, which has been devised following consultation with key stakeholders and planners. It includes development of a second station at Parramatta North, in the Parramatta city centre, currently the fourth busiest in Sydney.
