Geographical Names Board (GNB) Accepts Change Requests

All suburb boundary change requests made by Council to the Geographical Names Board of NSW (GNB) were approved by the Board in principle. A consultation period on these changes have been requested by the Board and will run until mid January 2007.

Advertisement and consultation is the final stage in approving our request after which the changes will be gazetted if there are no significant objections.

The changes will be advertised in The Northern District Times, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Parramatta Holroyd Sun, The Parramatta Holroyd Advertiser, and The Auburn Review on Wednesday 6 December 2006 and in the New South Wales Government Gazette on Friday 8 December 2006.

In addition, GNB maps will be on display during the consultation period at Council’s Administration Building at 30 Darcy Street, Parramatta City Library, Dundas Valley Branch Library, Ermington Branch Library, Granville Branch Library, Guilford Branch Library, Constitution Hill Branch Library, Parramatta Heritage Centre and Holroyd Council Offices. It is also on display at the office of the Geographical Names Board, Land and Property Information, 346 Panorama Ave, Bathurst NSW 2795.

Submissions from residents about boundary change for remaining parts of the Parramatta LGA not covered by these changes are continuing, and remain open until 31 December 2006. Final determinations will be made after that by GNB upon Council’s recommendations.
