NAIDOC Celebrations
Parramatta’s rich indigenous history will be remembered at NAIDOC celebrations this week. The theme this year is Honouring Our Elders, Nurturing Our Youth - aimed at encouraging communities to acknowledge the status of our elders as leaders and role models for young people. The community is invited to Burramatta Fun Day on Sunday 5 July which will feature the very best of Indigenous art, entertainment, sport, culture and workshops. The Fun Day will be held at Prince Alfred Park from 11am - 4pm. Council will hold a NAIDOC flag raising ceremony outside the Parramatta Town Hall on Saturday 4 July between 10:00 – 11:00am.
