Parks & Reserves

The city provides around 300 beautiful and diverse parks and reserves for residents, visitors and workers to enjoy. These open spaces offer a variety of opportunities for active and passive recreational activities as well as interaction with local native flora and fauna. Many of our larger parks contain barbecue and picnic facilites, making them perfect for picnics with family and friends in picturesque settings. Playgrounds are also provided in more than 100 of our parks and reserves for children to enjoy, learn and interact. Council also understands the benefits and importance of providing opportunities for dogs to exercise off-leash, and has designated a number of dog off-leash parks and reserves.

Casual Hire

City of Parramatta Council’s parks and reserves provide a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to participate in a wide range of social, recreational, community and cultural activities.

Parks and reserves are available for hire on a casual basis. Prices vary depending on the park and/or reserve and the type of activity.

City of Parramatta Council has a responsibility to ensure that community land is managed effectively to safeguard against potential damage, user conflict and any adverse effects to the residential amenity. To ensure this affective management is achieved, any organised activity in Council’s parks and reserves requires the express permission from Council’s Recreation Programs and Services team.
