Parking in Parramatta
Parramatta City Council has introduced paid parking in the Parramatta Central Business District, North Parramatta and Harris Park.
Parking meters help turn over parking more regularly, making it easier for visitors to find parking and encourage greater patronage in business districts.
Lower parking meter rates apply in the northern and southern fringes of the CBD, as well as Harris Park. Parking restrictions have also been installed beyond the metered area to ensure that there is parking available for residents, visitors, and local businesses.
Paid parking is one element of a larger transport management plan for Parramatta. Council is also investigating a CBD shuttle bus, park & ride facilities, T-Way bus routes, upgrading its car parks and improving street signage.
Revenue from parking meters is reinvested back into the community via neighbour revitalisation projects, resources and infrastructure.
Parking Restrictions

Parking hours are strictly limited to the hours shown on the meter. Council's parking officers monitor the length of time vehicle is parked in a metered space and impose parking penalties if it is overstayed the time limit.
