Advertising closed on Friday 25 May 2007. The Geographical Names Board (GNB) received submissions of objections and support to the proposed boundary amendments.
The next step in this process will be the GNB collating the responses & forwarding them to Council for consideration. It is not expected that Council will receive this until the week ending 15 June 2007 at the earliest. Council are to make consideration & determination based on the submissions & respond to the GNB. Upon receipt of Councils response, the GNB will take the matter to their next meeting on 25 July 2007. The GNB will consider Councils determination. If the objections that were received are not resolved, the matter will have to go to the Minister for final determination. Consequently, it may not be until August 2007 that the matter will be finalised.
