Proposal Abandoned to Amend Suburb Boundaries from Winston Hills to Northmead
The public exhibition for proposed amendments to suburb boundaries from Winston Hills to Northmead occurred between March and April 2008 requesting feedback from residents.
The GNB (Geographical Names Board) received 32 submissions objecting to the proposed boundary changes including seven petitions with 160 signatures objecting to the proposal. Sixteen submissions were received which supported the proposed changes.
The GNB forwarded the responses for Council comment which were presented at the Council meeting 26 May 2008. Council resolved that based on the feedback received during the exhibition to recommend to the GNB not to proceed with the proposed change.
On 23 July 2008 the GNB formally resolved to abandon the proposal in view of the submissions received and the advice provided by Council.
